Time to uncover the grill, tune-up the lawn mower, plant your summer flowers and take your vehicle in for maintenance. So maybe that last item is not something you associate with the change from spring to summer, but you should. Winter weather is rough on any vehicle and the change from cold weather to hot weather can break down the fluids and other components needed for peak performance. “Summerizing” your vehicle is just important as sprucing up your yard and even yourself! Toyota Hybrid Sales Reach 5 Million Mark Globally

While the Prius did not exactly get a warm welcome when it debuted, selling only 5,562 units, many things have changed in 13 years. Since the first compact Prius, the family has grown to offer models that appeal to anyone from daily commuters to families or travelers. Today Toyota sells 19 different hybrids around the world. Toyota sold close to 2 of the 5 million hybrids in the United States alone, with a majority of those sold the state of California.

Highlander and Prius Named “Best for Commuters” by AAA


aaaAAA, or the American Automobile Association, began in 1902 in response to the need for better roads and routes in the early days of the automobile. Before GPS and smartphones, AAA was the place you went to get customized maps and information called TripTiks before you set out on a road trip. While the TripTik service is still available, although not as popular, AAA has added other services over the years for auto owners such as towing and roadside assistance, insurance and road travel discounts. With 51 locations across the country and over 51 million members, AAA is highly regarded as being experts in road travel. Each year AAS compiles lists of the “best” vehicles in a number of categories, this year, two Toyotas were named to their “Best for Commuters” list.
